Andrea Knievel MD

"Service has always been at the heart of my work, whether in the Army or in Family Medicine."

Dr. Andrea Knievel is a Family Medicine physician at Hudson Physicians who values community-centered care and strong relationships with the people she serves. Her approach to medicine is grounded in service, connection, and giving back to the community she calls home.

She earned her medical degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, and completed her residency through the Western Wisconsin Rural Family Medicine Program. She is board certified in Family Medicine and brings 12 years of experience caring for individuals and families across all stages of life.

Before beginning residency, Dr. Knievel served for 10 years in the United States Army as a primary care physician, practicing at Kamish Clinic and Bassett Army Community Hospital at Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Her military service shaped her dedication to teamwork, adaptability, and meaningful patient relationships.

Why She Chose the Hudson Community

Dr. Knievel chose Hudson for its strong sense of community and the opportunity to work close to home. She was drawn to Hudson Physicians’ independence, flexibility, and reputation for exceptional care.

Practicing locally allows her to build long-term relationships and support the health of families she sees in everyday life.

Special Interests

Her professional interests include preventive care, chronic disease management, women’s health, procedures, orthopedics, and community-based care. These areas reflect her broad training in Family Medicine and her commitment to caring for the whole person.

Life Outside the Clinic

Outside of work, Dr. Knievel enjoys finding new restaurants, cooking, attending concerts and theater, fishing, skiing, kayaking, swimming, knitting, and cheering on football.

She stays active with outdoor activities year-round and focuses on healthy habits she can control, like choosing fresh food from local markets.

She also shares a fun part of her personal journey: she once turned down a scholarship to culinary school before pursuing medicine on a military scholarship.
