Allie Nyquist DPM

"I have always practiced the philosophy that patients don't care how much you know until they know how much you care."

Board Certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS)

When you know, you know, and Hudson Physicians podiatrist Allie Nyquist, DPM, knew in high school that being a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine was her calling.

"I began my career in podiatry when I was 15 years old as part of a high school mentorship with a local podiatrist. On my first day, they took me to a surgery and the rest is history. I continued to work in the office for the next three years, which solidified my interest. I believe podiatry is a hidden gem of a profession," she says.

Practicing in the field of medicine, especially podiatry, has offered Dr. Nyquist the opportunity to blend her love of science with her desire to create meaningful connections with others. Since podiatry involves a wide range of clinical and surgical treatments, it allows her to diagnose and treat a diverse group of conditions.

Her specific medical interests include all pathologies of the foot and ankle with a special emphasis in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, sports injuries, foot deformities, ankle pain, flat feet, diabetic foot care, skin and soft tissue pathology, wound care, nail pathology, and trauma.

Dr. Nyquist is Board Certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS) in both Forefoot Surgery and Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery. These certifications reflect advanced training, experience, and demonstrated expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of complex foot and ankle conditions.

Having lived all around the United States, Dr. Nyquist is a Midwest gal at heart. She jumped at the opportunity to join the Hudson Physicians practice where she feels the many specialties and services under one roof create a valuable level of camaraderie and collaboration that ultimately benefits patients.

It is here in Hudson that Dr. Nyquist looks forward to her most rewarding scenario: having a patient walk out of the office pain-free after an appointment. She says, "It is important to remember that you don't have to live with foot pain. I always encourage patients to come in no matter how small the pain or issue is because the answer may be simpler than they realize."

Her advice for overall health is multifaceted: rely on friends and family for accountability and companionship, ignore health fads, remember that small changes lead to long-term habits, and maintain a routine to help reduce stress.

When not at the clinic, Dr. Nyquist is always up for an adventure and can often be found kayaking, traveling, gardening, and searching for new eateries, breweries, and distilleries. As a photographer, she is usually documenting it all. And for all of the Breaking Bad fans out there, make sure to ask Allie about her television debut as an extra in the hit series.
