Charity Weldt MD
"Building relationships and caring for families over time is what makes Family Medicine so rewarding."
Charity Weldt, MD, is a new Family Medicine physician at Hudson Physicians who takes a comprehensive approach to patient care. With 16 years of experience, she enjoys helping people stay healthy through preventive care while also managing acute concerns and chronic medical conditions.
Dr. Weldt’s journey to Hudson Physicians was truly a journey home. Originally raised in rural Wisconsin, she spent many years traveling for her education and medical training. While those experiences broadened her perspective, she always hoped to return to western Wisconsin and the St. Croix Valley. Joining Hudson Physicians gave her the opportunity to be closer to family and share the community she loves with her own family.
She was drawn to Hudson Physicians because of its dedication to Family Medicine and its commitment to providing physicians with the resources needed to deliver exceptional patient care. Dr. Weldt values the opportunity to care for patients in an integrated way, focusing on preventive care, acute concerns, and chronic disease management while building meaningful relationships with individuals and families. She believes that when patients refer their friends and neighbors, it reflects the trust that is at the heart of community-based medicine.
Dr. Weldt has special interests in preventive care, annual physicals, well-child exams, chronic disease management, including hypertension, diabetes, and asthma, as well as office procedures such as skin biopsies, skin excisions, joint injections, and Pap smears.
Success Story from Dr. Weldt
One patient came to Dr. Weldt with a severe hernia that was significantly impacting daily life. Although surgery was needed, the patient first had to get their blood pressure under control and had struggled to find a surgeon willing to take the case. Working together, they successfully managed the patient's blood pressure and found the right surgical referral. At a follow-up visit, the patient was so grateful for the outcome that they were moved to tears. Experiences like these remind Dr. Weldt why she chose Family Medicine.
Outside of work, Dr. Weldt enjoys gardening, hiking, biking, and road trip adventures. She believes that health is built through everyday choices. Her advice is to find a few activities you enjoy, do them consistently, and make thoughtful decisions about nutrition and wellness over time. Small, disciplined choices eventually become habits, and habits become a healthy lifestyle.
