Hudson Physicians is extremely proud to support The Family Resource Center. With our donation of $250, we are helping to ensure they can continue providing excellent services to the amazing Baldwin community. This incredible non-profit organization takes pride in offering free parent education and family support in Pierce, Polk, and St. Croix counties.
The Family Resource Center’s overall goal is to strengthen families, children, and communities by offering them the necessary education, resources, and support they desperately need. Any family that needs help may seek their services, which are completely free to them.
Here are a few programs at The Family Resource Center that Hudson Physicians loves:
- Baby and Me: An hour-long program where babies observe, explore, and play with other babies while parents ask questions or talk about concerns with educators and other parents. (Baby sign language and nutrition are examples of topics along with many others).
- Play & Learn: A 90-minute class where toddlers and preschoolers interact with parents and other children their age. Group classes encourage talking about dilemmas, strategies, and other situations parents face daily.
- Young Parent Program: Available for any teen going through pregnancy. Home visits and a group class occur twice monthly. Young moms and dads receive support from parent educators and peers. They can also receive high school credit through participation in these activities plus written assignments. High school guidance counselors can refer them to the program.
- Home Visits: Provides individualized education in the home. Educators provide child appropriate play ideas, nutritional information, development screenings, and encourage parental discussions.
The Family Resource Center is entirely funded by private grants, contracts, and donations. Without these generous givers, the center would not be able to provide the services that they do.
Hudson Physicians is fortunate and grateful to have such an amazing non-profit center in our Baldwin community.
