In the heart of spring, as Hudson bursts into life, our thoughts turn towards growth, renewal, and the well-being of our community.
Yet, amidst this seasonal awakening, an important conversation about mental health continues to unfold.
Mental health challenges, often hidden beneath the surface, impact individuals and families across all walks of life.
With a keen focus on the well-being of our children, Hudson Physicians is leading the charge to shed light on these issues, offering support and solutions that resonate throughout our community.
Understanding Mental Health: A Family’s Journey
Imagine a family navigating the complexities of childhood anxiety, big emotions, and the hurdles of making friends. These challenges, all too common yet frequently misunderstood, can overshadow the joys of childhood and adolescence.
Hudson Physicians’ Behavioral and Mental Health Program is a beacon for families, offering help to children and their families. Through services designed to evaluate mental health issues and developmental concerns, fostering improved communication of feelings, referrals to quality community therapists and other treatment options, we aim to support not just the individual, but the family unit as a whole.
A Community Approach to Mental Wellness
Our community faces a critical need for integrated mental health services in the primary care clinic. Hudson Physicians endeavors to offer diagnostic and pharmacological treatment with referral to therapy services in your community, collaborating with those therapists to help create a cohesive system of care tailored to our community’s needs. Whether it’s addressing anxiety, depression, stress, learning problems, or sibling conflict, our goal is to help families thrive, equipping them with the tools and resources to navigate life’s challenges.
Specialized Support for Our Youngest Community Members
Children and young adults encounter unique challenges, from navigating big life transitions to managing stress and anxiety on a daily basis.
Hudson Physicians understands that there’s no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to mental health. Our program is designed to evaluate and treat mental health and behavioral concerns and to empower parents with confidence. With a team of dedicated professionals, including Janette Concepcion, PhD in Psychology, Kelly Delahunty, MD, and Lauren Knapp, PA-C, we offer a range of services from educating parents and providers to pharmacological treatment when needed. We also collaborate with local therapists, teachers and parents to ensure that each patient receives a multi-faceted team approach according to their needs.
Conditions We Encounter
Our team is well-versed in a broad spectrum of conditions, including but not limited to ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, eating disorders, OCD, psychosis, anxiety and anxiety subtypes, bipolar disorder, depression and depression subtypes, gender dysphoria, and PTSD. We also refer to broader integrated systems for more intensive assessment and care as needed.
This comprehensive approach ensures that every child receives the personalized care they deserve.
Empowering Stories of Change
The journey towards mental wellness is filled with stories of resilience and hope. By integrating mental health into the overall well-being of our patients, we witness remarkable transformations. Families learn to function at their best, children find new paths to joy, and parents gain the tools they need to guide their loved ones through complicated times.
