Hudson Physicians is pleased to announce the opening of the Behavioral and Mental Health Program with Dr. Delahunty, Dr. Concepcion and Lauren Knapp.
The overall mission is to reach out to the counties and school districts that they serve and the therapy colleagues in the community to develop a collaborative program of education, care, and prevention. As mental health dollars are stretched thin, the goal of the Behavioral and Mental Health Program is to not duplicate services but to coordinate services to best serve the community.
Conditions that these providers commonly encounter include ADHD, anxiety and anxiety subtypes, autism spectrum disorder, bipolar disorder, behavioral disorders, depression and depression subtypes, eating disorders, gender dysphoria, OCD, PTSD, psychosis, substance use disorder, tic disorders, and other movements disorders.
Many providers in practice already offer these services, but the program’s goal is to expand upon that. The program will be starting with a focus on pediatrics. Over time they look forward to adding adult mental health services as well.
This team will be reaching out to their therapy colleagues in the community to collaborate with them and County Mental Health Resources as well as the School District. They will be providing training to their medical colleagues and educational opportunities to assist parents in caring for their children’s behavioral and mental health. Prevention is like planting the seeds in childhood that bear the fruit of childhood and adult happiness.
The team includes:
Janette Concepcion, PhD in Psychology, who will be providing education, training, diagnostic clarification and mental health triage.
Kelly Delahunty, MD, a pediatrician with expertise in psychiatry and behavioral modification through effective parenting and individual goal setting.
Lauren Knapp, Psychiatric Physician Assistant, who will provide education, training, assessment, and pharmacological treatment as needed.
They are looking forward to serving the community and engaging with the wonderful counseling community to assist their patients best.
Talk to your provider about what you are going through, and they can tell you what kind of support is available, such as Hudson Physicians new Behavioral and Mental Health Program. Please note that this program will be starting with a focus on pediatrics, but over time they look forward to adding adult mental health services as well.
